Part 1 (Digital Art):
Part 2:
To spend my time away from the online world, I decided to visit a friend while they were working in their painting studio, and I drew a quick sketch of them. I made sure to keep my phone away and not interact with any technology. Because I'm an animation major, I quickly realized how I've grown accustomed to digital art and its advantages, like quick undos or line manipulation. Analog art, on the other hand, isn't as forgiving, but I did find it refreshing to return to this medium. The lack of technology also allowed me to devote all my focus to the work which was also refreshing, but I did find myself somewhat missing music in my ears. After this experience, I've realized that I'm very reliant not only on digital art but technology in general.
Part 3:
This is the sketch I did while my friend was painting. It's honestly not great, and I realize that I should probably reconnect with drawing from life. However, I still enjoyed the experience and how it informed me about my relationship with technology.
