Part One:

This quick drawing is what digital art means for me. I feel like there are endless possibilities when it comes to art in general, but digital art just feels different in a way. I find myself thinking of so many ideas all at once that it feels like I have a movie playing in my head. There is a variety of different effects to use, techniques to try, and even the ability to create your own personalized brushes at your fingertips.

Part Two:
The way I spent my time away from my computer and phone was by reading poetry. More specifically, Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. This book was given to me by my mother as a kid and the thing I love most about it is the fact that little doodles are included with each poem. Most are silly and a little weird but that's what I love about it. Poetry itself is a form of art and I feel like the illustrations make it even more enjoyable and even give a bit of inspiration to the individual reading. I usually have some sort of background music playing when I read or even have my headphones in. However, this time I did not, and I felt more immersed within the book. Taking a step back from everything felt like a breath of fresh air for just a moment. Some of the poems were silly, possibly causing a smile and others had a deeper meaning. I feel like we all get so caught up with technology in general that we forget to think about the little things.
